Glasswool/Fibreglass Insulation Batts are the most widely used thermal insulation material for residential construction in Australia. They are a very economical and energy efficient way, to increase the comfort of your home or workplace.

Knauf Earthwool® boast a huge 80% recycled content in their manufacturing process, and with ECOSE ^® Technology, a sustainable, bio-based binder that contains no added formaldehyde, makes Earthwool extremely sustainable and environmentally friendly.

Thermal performance is measured by ‘R value’, which relates to the thermal resistance of the product. With Glasswool generally, the thicker the insulation, the higher ‘R rating’ it provides, however there are some exceptions to that rule. Most Batts are available, pre-cut in 430mm and 580mm widths to suit specific wall/ceiling framing openings.

Specifically for under timber floors, the Bradford Optimo™ underfloor, is a rigid high-density insulation batt manufactured from glasswool. It is designed to be installed easily between joists beneath the flooring, to increase the thermal comfort and the energy efficiency of homes with suspended floors. Bradford Optimo can also be fitted to any home that has access to the subfloor. If it is an existing home, Optimo can be fitted easily from underneath using Bradford Optimo Straps. In a new home, Optimo can be fitted from above, before the floor is laid using the unique Bradford Optimo Saddle system. The Optimo range consists of two different R-values (R2.1 and R2.5) and thicknesses (75mm and 90mm) to suit joist spacing of either 450mm or 600mm.
